Tag threat from Peckham Pedlars

AFTER quickly getting himself noticed in All Star rings, Sid Scala is now mounting a bid for tag honours partnered by ‘Lightning’ Lewis Howley in a team that styles itself as the ‘Peckham Pedlars.’ Savvy by name and savvy by nature, Scala is the ring’s resident wheeler, dealer and dodgy geezer but knows all the tricks in the wrestling  book and uses every last one of them to overcome opponents. Grays-based Howley, another product of the Bucket O’Blood training school, is the heavier of the team who will be seen on Tuesday 4 April taking on the intriguing combination of ‘White Van Man’ Phil Powers and masked rule bender Tagori in at the Woodville Hall, Gravesend. Then they head south for another team test at Bournemouth Pavilion Ballroom on Tuesday 18 April.

Also still making their presence felt on the tag scene are The Henchmen, bearded Midlands pairing Jim Diehard and Benton Destruction, pictured above by Christine Harrison,  whose next All Star date is a potential sizzler against James Mason and Oliver Grey at the Town Hall (Neuadd Dwyfor) at Pwllheli. This one has an early start at 6 o’clock with another featured clash seeing Mexican luchador Flying Eagle taking on Oliver Grey. Bookings can be made at the Town Hall, Pwllheli, telephone 01758-704088. Another event with top tag team action comes up at Bournemouth Pavilion Ballroom on Tuesday 18 April with UK Hooligans Roy and Zack Knight facing an exciting formation consisting of Oliver Grey and Bath flier Charlie Garrett. There will also be another tag match for ‘Peckham Pedlars’ Scala and Howley. Bell time is 7.30 and bookings can be made at the Pavilion Box Office, telephone 06844-5763000.

More title tests for Harlem Bravado

AFTER a February tag team frenzy when he regularly partnered ‘Vampire Warrior’ Gangrel during his UK tour for All Star, Superslam number one Harlem Bravado is back on the solo circuit with some big April matches on the offing starting on Saturday 1 April at the Gladstone Theatre, Port Sunlight, near Birkenhead, when he opposes James Mason in a programme starting at 7pm and also including Liverpool’s Ringo Ryan against the Flying Eagle; Dean Allmark makes a short trip from his Wirral home to take on Phil Powers; while Thunder will be out to make his weight advantage count against Charlie Garratt. Tickets are on sale at the Gladstone Theatre, telephone 0151-643-8757. Bravado then puts the belt on the line against Oliver Grey on 4 April at Gravesend where the start time is 7.30 and tickets can be booked at the venue, telephone, 01474-337459. Then Bravado’s next title test comes when he faces a challenge from James Mason at Bournemouth on Tuesday April 18.
