Bravado Brothers in Rhyl season’s opener!
In focus (l to r): Bravado Brothers, Chris Silvio, Dean Allmark, James Mason
ANOTHER summer season of wrestling events from All Star Promotions opens at Rhyl Town Hall on Tuesday 25 July when the atmosphere is sure to be electric as barnstorming American brothers Harlem and Lance Bravado run into top home favourites James Mason and Dean Allmark. The Bravados, from Draper, North Carolina, hit the international wrestling scene as recently as 2008 and have figured in solo and tag team action all over North America, including spells with Ring of Honor, as well as coming to Europe and making a big impression with Pro-Wrestling Noah in Japan. Harlem Bravado took Britain by storm earlier this year when All Star’s prestigious Superslam Championship but is sure to face a serious test from a former title holder, South London-born Mason, a wrestler since his teens and one of the top weight division’s most consistent stars.
Wirral-based Allmark, another former Superslam number one, tackles bearded elder brother Lance who has recently arrived for All Star summer action. Originally from Stoke on Trent, Allmark continues as head coach of the All Star Training School, now based at Neston, North Wirral, and Rhyl fans will be seeing a number of school graduates through the coming weeks. Wrestling will be on the Rhyl agenda every Tuesday through to 29 August with the action beginning each week at 7pm, the opening bill also including an international tag team battle when the Welsh Wizards headed by Stevie Starr face America’s Rock ‘n Roll Superstars, a combination of Florida-based Chris Silvio and his partner, from West Hollywood, Diamond Steele. Both men are talented musicians with Silvio, trained for wrestling in the United States by Rip Rogers and in England with Marty Jones, is the lighter man at 185 pounds while Steele, who started as a pupil of US great Tracey Smothers, hits the scales at 210 pounds.
There will be further supporting contests for the opening programme with tickets on sale at the Town Hall door from 6pm on the night or in advance at Rhyl Tourist Information Centre at The Village, West Promenade, telephone 01745-344515. Further Town Hall wrestling events follow on 1, 8,15 22 and 29 August.
Overseas invaders are here in force!
Facing the camera: Diamond Steele, Fabian Steinbolt, Gangrel, Joe Legend.
CAMPAIGNERS from the United States are once again heading our way with summer visits by Chris ‘Superstar’ Silvio and guitar carrying rock and roll exponent Diamond Steele. And if this is not enough as already mentioned the Bravado brothers have reunited here and February 2018 is set to bring the annual visit of legendary international globetrotter ‘Vampire Warrior’ Gangrel!
Silvio, from Clearwater, Florida, has been wrestling for the past 15 years after training under Rip Rogers in the USA and England’s Marty Jones. Now 33, he had a fine amateur career and was a member of the USA national amateur team at 16. Also a trained musician and writer he has combined with Steele, who hails from West Hollywood, to form a Rock Superstars tag team. Trained by Tracy Smothers, Steele’s career started in 2011 when he began working for Ohio Valley Wrestling before going on the TNA circuit. At 220 pounds and six foot tall he is the bigger of the pairing, 5ft 10 in tall Silvio hitting the scales at 185 pounds.
Also here for summer action is Fabian Steinbolt, the Swedish time bomb from Gothenburg who first came here for tuition from the Robbie Brookside’s Leicester-based school and also worked with the much travelled heavyweight star Joe Legend in Germany. The 31 year-old weighs 106 kilos with a height of close to six feet and is looking forward to adding his growing reputation.
The sabre toothed Gangrel showed during his stay in All Star rings earlier this year that he has lost none of his edge and there is no reason it will be any different when the unmistakable star of WWE action and before that WWF returns during February 2008 looking for solo and tag team challenges.
Training School talent ready for action
All Star trainees watch as Dean Allmark demonstrates a move
FOLLOWING its usual summer break the All Star Training School will resume during September with twice weekly sessions at Evolution House on the Clayhilll Estate at Neston, North Wirral, and for full details of training days and times the number to call is 07738-330316. There’s even a new Spiderman to bring fans to the edges of their seats and ‘Mersey Mouth’ Ringo Ryan, the school’s first graduate to make his big time mark will be trying to keep them all in their place! The school also continues to arrange children’s birthday parties and other special events with wrestlers attending with information and prices available on 07738-330316.
